Dirt Devil may not be a premium brand but this vacuum cleaner is a nicely-designed product that works well and - for the RRP - represents very good value for money.
It is extremely simple to set up and the instructions are very clear. In operation the 1900w motor produces good suction and the height adjustable brush bar worked well on both hardwood flooring and carpet. This bagless cleaner was also easy to clean and the collection cylinder easy to remove, empty and replace. It comes with the usual array of tools including a pet hair removing attachment. It also features a HEPA filter which they claim is more hygienic.
I think what is perhaps this product's USP is the folding handle which, when folded down, almost makes it half as tall as conventional upright cleaners . This really proved to be useful as the unit can now be stowed away in a hidey-hole under the stairs.
The only criticism I can think of is the hose's stair-carpet/brush attachment which when not in use is stowed on a clip/peg at the rear of the unit. Due to it being a little loose fitting (despite being specifically designed for it) time and again it would fall off as the vacuum was pushed around. I eventually removed it altogether and put it to one side (which, as far as I'm concerned, means its as good as lost at some point). Also I would say the vac is not particularly quiet (but neither is it unduly loud) and the colour and design may not be as pleasing as other (more expensive) models.
These minor gripes aside this is a very well-priced, easy to use and live-with unit that I am happy to recommend.

This is a great little vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful 1900 watt motor, the only downside of which is that it is a little noisier than some machines. The upside is that it has very good suction, and managed to clean both my carpets and solid floors very capably. There is a good variety of tools supplied with the machine, and these stow away on board neatly and easily. However the best features are the lightweight design, and the folding handle. This vacuum would be ideal for somebody who finds the heavier machines too much to deal with. It is also recommended for those who are fed up with carting heavy appliances up flights of stairs The folding handle makes it ideal for easy storage, particularly if you have a small home with limited cupboard space. For the money, this vacuum represents extremely good value. I recommend it without hesitation.
