The old man who does the repairs suggested a Panasonic vacuum cleaner. I got a fantastic deal through Amazon, and it works like a dream. It was delivered quickly. I could buy 3 panasonics for 1 Dyson, and I'll never touch a Dyson again. I think a 'bagless' vacuum cleaner is a bad idea (dust gets into the workings).
Its suction power is great. It's very light, easy to manoeuvre and quiet. Having dusting brush on the wand with the release pedal is very clever too. Nozzels are at hand as well.
